ST. JOHN'S - Provincial Business Minister Paul Oram was in Toronto Wednesday, extolling the growing opportunities for investment in Newfoundland and Labrador to former Atlantic Canadians and business people.
The visit is part of the Atlantic Business Summit, organized by East Coast Connected, a Toronto-based group that works to get Atlantic Canadians living in Ontario to work together, promoting development in the Atlantic region through business ties.
"Our message is clear: Newfoundland and Labrador is experiencing unprecedented economic and fiscal strength, opportunities for growth and investment are on the rise, and we are open for business," said Oram, who was scheduled to address the audience during the summit.
As part of its strategy to bring business into the province, the province has established the Business Attraction Fund and an accompanying grants fund worth $28 million, which it says enables it to compete for new national and international business opportunities.
