Corner Brook -
Visitation restrictions have returned at the Corner Brook Interfaith Home.
Western Health has implemented the measure due to a number of residents at the home having flu-like symptoms. The same ban was in place last week, but was lifted Monday.
Western Health is seeking public cooperation during this temporary visitation ban. Limited exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis, but children under 14 years of age should not visit the home during this ban. People can contact the nursing unit directly for instructions on how to proceed.
People who have any influenza like symptoms including cough, fever, runny nose, and headache are asked to refrain from visiting any of Western Health's facilities. Individuals with any of these symptoms should rest at home, drink fluids, practice proper hand washing with water and soap, and if the symptoms persist contact their physician.
