A number of cadets with the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets 194 Calypso in St. George’s received awards at a recent annual inspection. Recipients include from left:  PO1 Willis Renouf, 5th year service pin and best turned out cadet on parade; MS Anita Gough, Commanding Officer award and Callahan most outstanding contribution award; MS Hali Bennett, best bands person award; PO2 Shantelle Tobin, Espirit de Corps; AS Tyler Long, best first year; MS Katrina Cressy, best junior cadet; MS Jacob MacDonald, most improved cadet; PO1 Tedra Tobin, best senior cadet and five-year service pin; PO1 McKayla Bennett, five-year service pin; CPO1 Debbie Beattie, six-year service pin and Danny Messervey Memorial award; and CPO1 Hayley King, six-year service pin, most proficient cadet award and Lord Strathcona medal.

As part of celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets 194 Calypso in St. George’s a ceremonial cake cutting was held. Involved are from left: CPO1 Hayley King; Lieutenant Commander Gerald W. Hartley, reviewing officer; and CPO2 Debbie Beattie.
