CORNER BROOK — Ryan Burton and Angela Earle have claimed bragging rights to the junior golf crowns at Blomidon Golf and Country Club.
Burton won the 18-hole junior boys title with a two-day total of 148 with a 75 round on Day 1 and a 73 round on Day 2.
Earle won top honours in the 18-hole junior girls division with a two-day total of 180 with a 94 score on Day 1 and an 86 round on Day 2.
Zach Hiscock finished in second spot in the junior boys showdown with a 164 total (80-84), while Daniel Penney followed with a 193 total after carding a 98 on Day 1 and 95 on Day 2. The rest of the field included Colin Fowlow (90-105-195), Patrick d’Eon (97-101-198), Ian Glover (120-106-226) and Rami Habb (135-135-270).
Abby Hickey finished in second spot in the 18-hole junior girls bracket with a 280 total with a 136 round on Day 1 and 144 score on Day 2, while Abby Bugden rounded out the division with a 388 score after carding a 199 on Day 1 and a 189 round on Day 2.
Andrew Bruce finished first in the 18-hole Red Tee Division with a 163 total (85-78), while Nathan King (106-93-199) and Jordan Paddle (112-129-241) rounded out the field. Matthew Bonnell was the top gun in the 9-Hole Boys Junior Tee Division with a 73 total after pencilling in a 33 round on on Day 1 and finishing with a 39 round on Day 2. Noah Thomas (47-45-92), Ryan Pike (61-51-112), Noah Dennis (64-52-116), Alex Willis (62-55-117), Nick Collins (70-57-127), Gerry Byrne (56-77-133) and Matthew Sherstobetoff (83-93-176).
Helena McCarthy shared the spotlight at the junior club championship by winning the crown in the 9-Hole Girls Junior Tee Division with a two-day total of 105, finishing with a 45 round on Day 2 to pull out the victory. Taylor Cormier (59-55-114), Paige Hickey (64-58-122) and Megan Colbourne (74-64-138) rounded out the field.
