CORNER BROOK The Corner Brook Broomball Association held its annual general meeting Wednesday, where it elected its executive for the 2013-14 season.
The new executive includes president Gary Kean, vice-president Darren Simmonds, treasurer Leo Blanchard, secretary Sarah Kean, statistician Ron Hancock, publicity chair Karen Pottie and minor co-chairs Ron Burnett, Megan Colbourne and Tyler Wells.
The position of referee-in-chief was not filled and will be appointed by the new executive later, as will the team representatives for each of the four teams in the Corner Brook Molson Men’s Broomball League.
There will be two open runs for returning and new players in the men’s league before the player draft. Those pre-season scrimmages at the Pepsi Centre will be Oct. 14 and Oct. 21 at 8:30 p.m.
The player allotment draft will take place Oct. 23 and the regular season for the men’s league will begin Oct. 28.
All players will be required to pay their registration in full before the regular season starts in order to be permitted to play.
Anyone who intends to play in the men’s league must inform an executive member before the player draft and must be in good standing to be eligible for inclusion in the draft.
The women’s and minor broomball programs will both begin Nov. 18.
