CORNER BROOK  With nothing left to be decided in the final two weeks of the Corner Brook Molson Men’s Broomball League regular season, Adam Tilley decide to escape the cage for a night.

The Investors Group goalie, who has recorded a league-high seven shutouts, lined up as a regular runner Monday night in a 6-1 triumph over Newfoundland Fasteners.

Turns out, he’s not bad outside the crease either.

Tilley produced two goals, while Lorne Pelley, Martin Mantey, Luke Burt and Lance Ereaut did the rest in the victory.

Scott Wayson was the lone marksman for the bolt bunch.

Leo Blanchard filled in admirably for Tilley between the posts, earning the win, with Albert Specker taking the loss.

The two teams are already locked in their current spots in the standings and will play each other in the first round of the post-season later this month.

Pelley starting the scoring 26 seconds into the game, from Ereaut.

Tilley got his first at 8:55, with Burt assisting.

Mantey made it 3-0 at 7:54, from Tilley and Tyler Wells, before Burt scored 33 seconds after that to put his side up by four. Ereaut and Ryan Lewis drew the assists.

Tilley notched his second goal at 13:52 of the second half, with Mantey and Ereaut recording the helpers.

Ereaut scored at 10:02, from Mike Hawco, to give his team the 6-0 advantage.

Wayson spoiled Blanchard’s bid for a clean sheet with 3:54 remaining.

In other action Monday night, Western Building Products blanked the West Side Monarchs 4-0 in another playoff preview.

Ryan Wilson had a pair of goals in the winning cause.

Dean Kean and Tristan Byrne also bulged the twine.

Marc Green picked up the shutout, with Ian Jones coming out on the losing side of things.

The league-leading investors sport an 11-1-2 record with one week left to go. The builders are in second at 8-5-1, followed by the 4-8-2 Monarchs. The bolt bunch are in the basement at 2-11-1.
