Penney powers Templeton to win over Humber Elementary

A 12-point game from Sarah Penney helped Templeton Academy earn a 30-16 triumph against Humber Elementary.

In action Thursday from the St. Gerard’s/RNC Grade 6 Basketball Tournament, Madison Park and Jordan Parsons put up six points apiece in the win.

Amy Payne led Humber Elementary with 10 points, while Breanna Power scored four.

In earlier action, St. Gerard’s bested Immaculate Heart of Mary 25-13 thanks to 12 points from Paige Hickey.

Melissa Barker drained six points to aid the winning cause.

Felicia Young’s nine points highlighted the game for the losing side, while Makenzy Bishop scored two.

In the boys bracket of the tournament, Thomas Balsam racked up 17 points to lead Pasadena past Templeton 35-12.

Nathan Carter knocked home eight points in the win.

James Brake’s four points was tops for Templeton, while Chris Loder had two.

Later, J.J. Curling defeated Sacred Heart 63-6.

Daniel O’Brien was lights out with 28 points for the winning side, while Brandon Gaultois scored 10.

Josh Penney picked up four points for the Sacred Heart entry.
