Western Royals

The Western Royals are up 5-1 at the end of the second period.

Royals forward Justin Barbour started the Royals’ domination with a goal less than two minutes into the period, and Andrew Smith scored less than 15 seconds later. Less than 20 seconds after that Matthew Thomey popped one past Flyers goalie Devin O’Brien.

The Flyers got one back with just over nine minutes of the second with a Chad Locke goal, but then Royals Scott Doody put one in at 17:38 of the period.

The game became a little more physical in the middle period, as a couple of dust-ups took place in front of the Flyers’ goal. Several fans of the Gander team came in from Central but the hometown Royals fans seem to be drowning out the noise they make.
