Investors win opening game of men’s broomball final

Adam Tilley got the upper hand in the goaltending duel with Marc Green in Game 1 of the Corner Brook men’s broomball final.

Tilley was supported by goals from Todd Warren and Tyler Wells as Investors Group eked out a 2-1 victory over Western Building Products Monday night at the Pepsi Centre.

Dean Kean was the lone marksman for the Western Building Products squad in the opening game of the Corner Brook Molson Men’s Broomball League best-of-five final.

Warren opened the scoring with an unassisted marker at 3:02 of the second period.

Kean got his team back even at 8:06 of the second period on a setup from Gary Park.

Wells scored the game-winning goal at 16:05, finishing off a feed from Mike Hawco.

Game 2 of the series is slated for Monday 8:30 p.m. at the Pepsi Centre.
