CORNER BROOK When Mike Brake and Frank Humber take matters into their own hands on the baseball diamond it usually means success for the Hawks.

It was no different Sunday night.

Brake belted two homers, driving in a total of five runs, in a 3-for-4 performance to lead the Veitch’s Ultramar Hawks to an 8-1 drubbing of the Veitch Physiotherapy Aces at Jubilee Field.

Humber picked up another win from the hill, giving up one run on nine hits and no walks. The seasoned southpaw fired the third strike past six hitters in a complete game.

Perry Alexander shared the spotlight for the winners going 2-for-3 with a walk.

Ryan Park went 1-for-3 with an RBI to lead the Aces, while Steve Kelly went 2-for-2 with a double.
