The Marlins still seek its first win on the Corner Brook senior baseball circuit.

Cory Lockyer drove in three runs with a brace of doubles in a perfect 4-for-4 outing to score to lead the Veitch’s Ultramar Hawks to a 14-2 victory over the expansion Wing N It Curling Marlins Thursday night.

Darren Colbourne went 2-for-3 with a two-run single and three runs for the Hawks, while Fred Prosper had a good night for the Hawks going 2-for-4 with two runs scored at Jubilee Field.

Greg Birmingham was the top batter for the Marlins driving in two runs with two clutch singles in three attempts in the Corner Brook Molson Senior Baseball League showdown.

Dave Janes had two hits and scored a run in a 2-for-3 effort for the expansion team that has now lost 12 in a row.

Southpaw Colin Wood tossed the win allowing two runs on six hits. He chalked up six strikeouts and the seasoned veteran showed excellent control with no free passes charged to his stat line.

Wayne Hicks took the loss for the Marlins, who committed four errors in the game.

League action resumes tonight with the Hawks tangling with the West Side Monarchs 7 p.m. at Jubilee Field.
