Chris Peach and Matthew Thomey scored empty-net goals in the last minute as the Western Royals defeated the Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts 6-3 Sunday at the Hodder in Deer Lake.
The Royals claim three out of a possible four points from the league-leading Cataracts after a 3-2 shootout loss Saturday night.

Andre Gill had two goals and Mike Brent scored late in the second as the Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts lead the Western Royals 3-2 after 40 minutes at the Hodder.

Chris Peach and Ryan Penney have scored for the Royals who held a territorial edge in the period despite a rash of minor penalties.

Andre Gill scored at 5:48 of the opening stanza to give the Grand-Falls Windsor Cataracts a 1-0 lead after one period of hockey at Hodder Memorial Recreation Complex.

The Cataracts defeated the Royals 3-2 Saturday night in a shootout.

Darren Langdon is not playing for the Royals Sunday afternoon  after receiving a gash to the leg from a skate in Saturday's game.

He received 16 stitches, but he is at the Hodder watching today's game with injured captain Steve North.
