Wight scores twice as 96ers defeat Mooseracks

CORNER BROOK  Two goals from Corey Wight Tuesday night helped West 96 to a 5-3 victory over the Mooseracks in action from the Corner Brook Molson Men’s Recreational Hockey League at the Kinsmen Arena II.

Mike Simms, Kristian Kavli and Jeff Lewis also got their names on the scoresheet in the winning cause.

Stu McNeil, Mike White and Jason Brake responded in the loss.

Mike Bavis outduelled Jeff Carey between the pipes.

In other action, Colin Dunphy scored twice and Chris Grant posted a shutout as Western Mazda pounded Meineke 7-0.

Darren Harvieux, Steve Borden, Paul Bennett, Brad Lucas and Chris Griffin added the rest of the offence.

Glen Porter suffered the defeat for the muffler men.

Elsewhere, Marble Zip Tours edged Health and Performance Physio 3-2.

Cyril Walsh, Jeff Murphy and Jamie Brake lit the lamp for the victors.

Ryan McMackin and Adam Tilley shot back for the physio crew.

Craig McCarthy earned the win in net, with Rob Roberts coming away with the loss at the other end.
