Pub club avenges loss in last year’s final

Revenge was served cold Tuesday during the opening night of action from the Bay St. George Ball Hockey League.

Clancy’s Pub defeated Centra Service Station 5-4 in a shootout at the Siki Bennett Memorial Stadium in a rematch from last year’s championship series, which the stationeers won in three straight games.

Josh White scored twice in the victory, while Dylan Noseworthy and Zach Hicks supplied single markers.

Mike Hawco, Sheldon McIsaac, MacKenzie Noseworthy and Freddy Cutler replied for the defending champs.

Dylan Noseworthy was credited with the shootout winner.

Ryan Saunders earned the goaltending triumph over P.J. White.

In the other game on Tuesday night, Skinner’s Pharmacy edged Harvey Gale & Son 5-4 in a game that was also decided by a shootout tiebreaker.

Josh Walsh (2), Dwayne Young and Nelson White provided the regulation goals for the winning side.

Chris Dohaney, Gordo Scott, Tyler Cornect and Brent White did the damage for the Gale group.

Paul Gabriel scored the game-clinching goal in the shootout.

Steven Hancock was the winning goalie, with Hunter Woodfine suffering the defeat at the other end of the floor.
