Caines leads charge for Rangers with three-goal performance

CORNER BROOK  Tim Caines notched a hat trick to lead Luxury Limo Curling Rangers to a 5-2 victory over A J’s Sunday night at the Pepsi Centre.

Darren Buckle and Mike Wight also scored for the Rangers in the Corner Brook Molson Ball Hockey League contest.

Brad Bennett and Craig Stewart replied for the opposing bench.

Meanwhile, Josh Kavli scored the winning goal as Macavery’s shaded the North Shore Tin Men 3-2 in a shootout.

Josh Skinner scored both goals for the winners in regulation time, while his younger sibling Ian picked up two helpers.

Rick Crane and Danny Reader scored for the Tin Men.

The only other league contest saw Gros Morne eke out a 4-3 victory over Marble Zip with Rodney Dyke scoring the game-winning marker.

Brandon Hynes, Dave Kennedy and Roger Snow also scored for the winners.

Grant Vincent had a two-goal game for the Marble Zip squad, while Ryan Patey scored the other goal in a losing effort.

League action resumes Thursday night with three games on the schedule as the RiverDogz take on the North Shore Tin Men at 7 p.m., Gros Morne battles A J’s at 8 and Macavery’s matches wits with Marble Zip at 9 p.m. at the Pepsi Centre.
