Two-goal efforts from Mike Hawco and Mitchell Gallant lifted Central Service Station to a 7-3 triumph over Skinner’s Pharmacy in Bay St. George Ball Hockey League play at the Siki Bennett Memorial Stadium.
Sheldon McIsaac, MacKenzie Noseworthy and Matt Crawford picked up the rest of the offence for the stationeers.
Elvis Barron, Dennis Critchley and Dwayne Young supplied the goals in the losing cause.
P.J. White outdueled Steve Hancock in net.
The stationeers led 3-0 after the first period, which started with McIsaac scoring at 17:37 of the opening frame, from Crawford.
Hawco provided the next two for his team, first at 12:02, from McIsaac, and then another at the four-minute mark, assisted by Noseworthy.
The second half opened much the same way for the stationeers, as Gallant notched his first of the night, at 19:33, from Chris Rose.
Less than a minute later, at 18:46, Noseworthy struck to make it a 5-0 game. Jason MacIsaac assisted on the goal.
The pharmacists finally got on the board at 17:19 of the second, when Young scored from Critchley.
They cut the lead to 5-2 at 9:10 of the second frame, when Critchley scored from Young.
Barron then pulled his team to within two, with 5:22 remaining in the game. The assist was credited to Critchley.
Before things got too tense, Gallant put his team back up by three, with 3:07 to go. Hawco assisted on the play.
Then Crawford lit the lamp at 2:56, from McIsaac, to make it a 7-3 score, which held up until the final buzzer.
In the only other action of the evening, Josh White’s seven-goal performance outdid Tyler Cornect’s six-goal output Tuesday night as Clancy’s Pub defeated Harvey Gale & Son 14-11
Brandon Nicholas was fairly lethal for the victors as well, racking up four goals in the contest.
Dylan Noseworthy, Brandon O’Neil and Brandon Keating all recorded single markers.
Other than Cornect’s six, Gordo Scott did most of the damage for the losing side with a hat trick. Brent White and Chris Dohaney added single goals.
Ryan Saunders was the winning goalie over Hunter Woodfine.
