DEER LAKE - The local Gracia Gymnastics Club is getting ready to celebrate the holidays in style.
The club is staging its first-ever Christmas show Tuesday, Dec. 4 starting at 6 p.m.
The hour-long gymnastic extravaganza will be held at the Elwood Primary School gymnasium.
Head coach Mandi Coish said the show is sure to be well-attended by the families of the gymnasts, but the public is also invited to the show.
"We've got 83 gymnasts taking part in the show," Coish told The Western Star. "We normally do a show at the end of each session during the year.
"But we thought we'd pare that down to two shows a year. That gives us the time to prepare properly for the shows."
The head coach said she and her staff have been working with the club members for weeks to lay down the choreography and practice the moves.
Coish said spectators will see performances at every level during the show.
"Our youngest gymnasts are to years old in the parents and tots group and they'll be performing," Coish said. "We're going to do floor routines and we'll have the balance beam out for some bear routines as well.
"Gymnasts right up to and including the competitive level of the club will be part of the Christmas show."
Tickets for the holiday gala gymnastics show will be available at the door on the night of the performance.
