CORNER BROOK The defending champs are on the board.
After losing their season opener, the Curling Rangers didn’t want to leave anything to chance on Wednesday night in Corner Brook Molson Women’s Soccer League action at Wellington Street Sports Complex.
Rangers’ Hannah Bradbury produced every goal except the actual game-winner as the Curling contingent blasted the Hawks 5-0.
Erin O’Farrell had the first Rangers marker.
Ashley Preston picked up the win in goal over Emily Pelley.
O’Farrell made it a 1-0 game in the 25th minute, before Bradbury took over late as an unstoppable force inside the 18-yard line.
Her scoring spree began in the 74th minute and she quickly struck for another in the 76th to put her side up by three.
She wasn’t finished there, as she disturbed the mesh again in the 85th minute, before capping her 13-minute outburst with another goal in the 87th to put the game well out of reach.
The Rangers now have a 1-1-0 record on the year, drawing them even in points with Veitch’s Physio and the Shamrocks, both at 1-0-0. The Under-16s and the Hawks are equal with 0-1-0 records.
