Groom’s hat trick leads Stephenville to triumph on the indoor pitch

CORNER BROOK  Tim Groom booted home three goals to  lead Stephenville to a 7-4 triumph over the Masters in action from the Corner Brook Molson Indoor Soccer League.

Greg Keats had a two-goal game for the airport town representatives, while Eric Flynn and Daniel Alexander added single tallies to the scoresheet.

Cameron Locke had a two-goal outing for the Masters, while Todd Mercer and Vincent Pickett scored the other goals in defeat.

Meanwhile, Jeff Young scored four goals to lead West Side Monarchs Black to an 8-2 drubbing of Sorrento Tactics in the other league contest played at the Pepsi Studio.

Tom Beck, Brad Roberts, Lucas Gibeux and Richard Peddle also scored for the black side.

Adam Anderson and Doug Drover scored for Tactics.

League action resumes Wednesday with Masters taking on Monarchs Gold at 7:30 p.m. and Monarchs Black tangling with the U18s 8:30 p.m. at the Pepsi Studio.
