Young’s four-goal game paves way in men’s indoor soccer triumph

CORNER BROOK  Jeff Young scored four goals to lead Monarchs Black to a 6-3 victory over Stephenville in Corner Brook Molson Men’s Indoor Soccer League play Sunday at the Pepsi Studio.

Clarence Bennett and Brad Roberts also dented the mesh for the victors.

Greg Keats booted home two goals for the Stephenvlle entry, while Andrew Beattie scored the other goal in a losing cause.

In other action, Todd Warren scored four goals to help the Masters salvage a 6-6 tie in a showdown against the Rangers.

Paul Christopher and Steve Hobbs also scored for the Masters entry.

Chris Elford was the top gun for the Rangers with a three-goal outing, while single markers were added to the scoresheet by Morgan Fox, Ty Gallant and Quinton Gillingham.

League action resumes Wednesday night with the Rangers tangling with Monarchs Gold 7:30 p.m. and the Under-18s battling Tactics 8:30 p.m. at the Pepsi Studio.
