Lomond’s four-goal performance leads Stephenville to soccer win

CORNER BROOK  Tiuri Lomond booted home four goals to lead Stephenville to an 8-5 triumph over West Side Monarchs Gold in Corner Brook men’s indoor soccer play Sunday night.

Greg Keats, Logan McIsaac, John St. Croix and Samuel Watkins also scored for the Stephenville entry in the Corner Brook Molson Men’s Indoor Soccer League at the Pepsi Studio.

Pat Fewer notched a hat trick in defeat, while Tyler Lavers and Chris Casey rounded out the scoring parade for the gold crew.

The other league contest featured a 7-7 stalemate as Ryan Dawe scored four goals for the Under 18s in a showdown against the Masters.

Zack Taylor had a two-goal performance for the young guns, while Andrew Peckford scored the other goal.

Paul Christopher (2), Todd Mercer, Cameron Locke, Eddie Joyce, Rod Gillam and Jason Connolly supplied the offence for the Masters.

League action resumes Wednesday with two games on the slate as Curling takes on West Side Monarchs Black at 7:30 p.m. and West Side Monarchs Gold battles the Tactics 8:30 p.m. at the Pepsi Studio.
