Noseworthy, Arnott shine for Rangers in women’s soccer victory

Michelle Noseworthy booted home a hat trick for the Curling Rangers in a women’s soccer win Wednesday.

Noseworthy’s goals game in the 52nd, 79th and 90th minutes as the Rangers downed Veitch’s 8-1 in Corner Brook Molson Women’s Soccer League play at the Wellington Street Sports Complex.

Kristen Gill got the Rangers off on the right foot with a goal in the 20th minute. Katie Arnott scored her first of the game in the 31st minute before Hannah Connolly made it 3-0 with a tally in the 40th minute.

Noseworthy’s first of the game gave the Rangers a 4-0 lead early in the second half.

Janine Gillis got one back for Veitch’s in the 58th minute before Arnott put the game away for good with her second in the 67th minute.

Marina Montevecci added an insurance marker in the 84th minute for the Rangers.

Ashley Preston earned the win in goal, while Dana Fewer took the loss.
