Two late goals powered the Health and Performance Hawks to a 3-1 win against the West Side Monarchs in Corner Brook Molson Senior Men’s Soccer League action at Wellington Street Sports Complex on Monday.
Brandon Ezekiel, Dave Warren and Brien Pattenden were the Hawks’ goal scorers.
Pat Fewer replied for the Monarchs.
After a scoreless first half, Warren put the Hawks up 1-0 in the 50th minute, but Fewer fired back for the Monarchs just two minutes later to knot the game.
Pattenden converted a penalty kick in the 83rd minute, then Ezekiel iced it for the Hawks in the 89th.
The Hawks improved to 4-0-2 for first place in the league so far, ahead of the Monarchs at 2-1-2. The Rangers are now 1-0-4, while the Investors Group Under-18s check in at 1-2-2. The Tactics are 0-3-2, with Stephenville at 0-2-0.
