Tuiri Lomond’s header in the 81st minute gave the Investors Group Under-18s a hard-fought 2-1 victory over the West Side Monarchs at Wellington Street Sports Complex on Monday night.
Jordan Butt also disturbed the mesh for the Under-18s in the Corner Brook Molson Senior Men’s Soccer League match.
Brad Roberts had the only goal for the gold and black.
Butt started the scoring in the 40th minute, but Roberts evened it just before the half, in the 45th.
The score remained locked until Lomond’s heroics with under 10 minutes to play gave the Under-18s the win.
Tyler Kelloway backstopped the victory, while Mark Woodman was charged with the loss in the Monarchs’ net.
