Inder leads charge for Western Under-16s in sweep of Burin

CORNER BROOK  Tanner Inder notched a three-goal game to lead BMO Western to a 7-1 victory over Burin in provincial Under-16 boys soccer league play Sunday in Corner Brook.

Logan McIsaac had a two-goal game for the Western side who swept the Burin boys in a two-game weekend series by virtue of a 2-1 victory Saturday night at Wellington Street Sports Complex.

Luke House and David Hardy also scored for the winners.

Munashi Mkondo was the lone marksman for the Burin Peninsula Soccer Association representatives.

The western boys will hit the road this weekend for a two-game series against Conception Bay South with games slated for Saturday 1 p.m. and Sunday 9:30 a.m. at Topsail.

Western 2, Burin 1

Tanner Inder opened the scoring for Western just three minutes into Saturday’s contest and Luke House scored the winning goal at 51 minutes.

Michael Pittman, at 49 minutes, was the lone marksman for the Burin boots.
