CORNER BROOK BMO Western had to battle hard for a point in a 2-2 tie against Mount Pearl Sunday at Wellington.
Logan McIsaac scored two goals, his first at 45 minutes and the other coming eight minutes later, to give the western boys a draw in the provincial Under-16 boys soccer league two-game series in Corner Brook over the weekend.
Mount Pearl got the upper hand in the first meeting of the two clubs, held Saturday night, registering a 4-0 win over the home team with Joshua Murphy recording the shutout at Wellington Street Sports Complex.
Paul Holley, at 45 and 52 minutes, scored both goals for Mount Pearl in Sundayâ€™s 2-2 stalemate.
On Saturday, Holley was the offensive force for Mount Pearl with a two-goal outing, including the game-winner at 20 minutes to support Murphyâ€™s shutout.
Riley Lingard and Jonathan Quirke also scored for the Mount Pearl Soccer Association representatives.
BMO Western will be in action this weekend for a two-game series against St. Johnâ€™s 13 Saturday (7 p.m.) and Sunday (11 a.m.) at Wellington.
