CORNER BROOK - Western Newfoundland's regional champions in men's darts were decided in C Division at a tournament held in Corner Brook last weekend with Team Cox's Cove emerging victorious in the playoff final of a 14-team showdown at the host Union Street Bar and Billards club on Sunday.

Gary Bursey threw the winning dart for Cox's Cove, finishing on double-one to give his team a 5-4 victory over McIvers in the title match.

Team captain Randy Park's squad - which also includes B.J. Wells, Kerry Small, Clay Park, Blair Carey and Bradley Park - will next challenge for the Newfoundland and Labrador Men's Darts Association C division crown at a tournament slated for Gander April 18-19. The McIvers Darts Club was earlier winners of the western Newfoundland title in the D division. Also representing the west coast in provincial play this year, after winning respective regional championships recently, will be the Curing Lions Club in B Division and Union Street Bar and Billards of Corner Brook in top-level A Division play.
