Navigate Entrepreneur Centre releases videos highlighting entrepreneurs in western Newfoundland

CORNER BROOK  The Navigate Entrepreneur Centre has developed a series of videos showcasing entrpreneurs in western Newfoundland.

The videos, hosted on YouTube, profile entrepreneurs in diverse environments including a sports shop, skateboard store, home improvement business, music scene, restaurant and a real estate franchise.

Two of the videos focus on Navigate clients Jamie Lee Cormier, owner of J.L. Gallery, and Adam Anderson, owner of Resource Innovations.

The Navigate Entrepreneur Centre (formerly named Gateway West) is a partnership between the College of the North Atlantic and Grenfell Campus, Memorial University.

Jacqueline Walsh, business faculty member at Grenfell and member of the advisory committee for the Navigate, said the committe is proud to highlight the companies and entrepreneurs who run them.

“These videos were produced to validate entrepreneurship as a viable career choice, and to assure potential entrepreneurs that Navigate can provide them the support they need to turn their vision into a career,” said Walsh in a prepared release.

Navigate is designed to address the needs of potential entrepreneurs in the pre startup phase of business development, and connect those individuals with various resources, programs and agencies that exist to meet their needs.

According to a prepared statement, over the past eight years the Navigate Entrepreneurship Centre has played an integral role in the creation of 37 businesses and more than 87 full- and part-time jobs in the region.
