ST. ANTHONY, N.L. – RagnaRöck Northern Brewing Company Ltd. is the latest company looking to get into the microbrewery business in Newfoundland and Labrador.

The company has registered a proposal to operate a five-barrel capacity microbrewery and taproom at 223-227 West Street in St. Anthony with the provincial government for environmental assessment.

According to an environmental assessment bulletin issued by the Department of Municipal Affairs and Environment on Aug. 17, the microbrewery will be located in the Clock Shop Building, which will undergo renovations to accommodate the brewery operation and taproom.

The company anticipates operating year-round with production increased between May and October.

The public has until Sept. 20 to comment on the proposal with Municipal Affairs and Environment Minister Andrew Parsons’ decision due by Sept. 30.
