GRAND FALLS-WINDSOR, N.L. – Lisa Power has been recognized as among the very top performing McDonald’s restaurant managers in the world.
Power, who manages the McDonald’s in Grand Falls-Windsor, has won a Ray Kroc Award.
According to a release from the company, only one percent of McDonald's restaurant managers are awarded the accolade, which comes with a cash prize and a trophy.
Power, who is a native of Grand Falls-Windsor, received the award at the Ray Kroc Awards Gala during McDonald’s worldwide convention this past April in Orlando, Fla.
Power was approached about working at the restaurant while hosting a birthday party for her son there and was given a part-time position. She moved to full-time shortly after.
That was 20 years ago. She has been manager for eight years.
“I have been fortunate enough through the past 20 years with McDonald’s to experience many amazing things both personally and professionally,” Power said in the release.
“This award is something that I worked hard for and could only dream of achieving. Together with my crew, we ensure our guests receive the best-in-class experience in satisfaction with our service and product each and every time they visit our restaurant.”
Restaurant managers are nominated for the Ray Kroc Award by McDonald’s franchisees and regional management. The honour recognizes hard work, dedication and commitment to McDonald's and its customers.
“Since joining the McDonald’s team, we’ve watched as Lisa has applied her strong leadership skills, strategic business acumen and unrivaled work ethic to our business,” said McDonald’s franchisee Penny McDonald.
“This award is our way of thanking Lisa for her ongoing efforts to grow and improve our engagement with both employees and guests.”
