Hailey Howlett, 14, has been spending her summer making and selling gift baskets throughout the Bay St. George area.

Basket Bliss — a custom gift basket business — takes away the hassle and time consuming task of making your own gift baskets.

Hailey has created a wide selection of gifts for her customers to choose from, and also takes custom orders. Hailey’s best-selling gift baskets are her character cups — reusable drinking cups with popular cartoon characters on them are filled with candy and small toys in a bouquet style arrangement.

Hailey also sells many of her baby baskets — an adorable arrangement of all the baby necessities made to resemble a sleeping baby.

As a veteran Youth Ventures participant, Hailey knows what it takes to be successful in the business world.

When asked what the best part about Youth Ventures is, Hailey responded, “I like how it helps out and gives you all the information you need about starting a business and how to control it.”

Hailey was also asked what it was she liked most about running her own business and she said, “(I like) that I’m my own boss, and I get the fun out of making everything, and it’s really not a boring job. It’s really fun and exciting.”

Hailey puts hours of hard work and dedication in to making her gift baskets, which is evident in the quality of her products.

Always eager to get out in the community, Hailey has attended events such as Canada Day, the Joe MacNeil Car Show and Stephenville Day.

If you’re searching for that perfect gift with a special touch, Hailey can be contacted for custom orders at 1-709-649-9096, or [email protected]
