Humber Valley speed skaters capture medals at Atlantic championships

Brandon Park captured the silver medal in Special Olympics Division 4 at the 2017 Atlantic Canadian short-track speed skating championship in Dieppe, N. B. over the weekend.

Park was one of four members of the Humber Valley Speed Skating Club to pick up a medal in one of the showcase events for competitive athletes in the local club.

It was Park’s first competition since embracing the sport at last year’s national Special Olympics Winter Games staged in Corner Brook in February.

The other medal winners for the club included Juliette Colbourne nabbing silver in Division 13, Noah Bolton nabbing bronze in Division 9 and Ella Tucker snagging bronze in Division 7.
