Accident kills teen print this article
MING'S BRIGHT
The Western Star

A young Ming’s Bight man died Thursday night following a single-vehicle accident in the Baie Verte Peninsula community.

Baie Verte RCMP, in conjunction with RCMP Traffic Service West collision analysts, were on the scene Friday investigating the accident, in which the vehicle left the road and rolled over about 11 p.m.

The teenager, who had been the only person in the pickup, apparently lost control of the vehicle and was partially ejected from the vehicle as it rolled over. Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in the accident.

Police are ruling out potential causes in hopes of determining the actual cause of the accident. Police said there were several young people who witnessed the accident.

Fire personnel from both Ming’s Bight and Baie Verte were dispatched to the scene to extract the driver.

The young man was taken to hospital by ambulance and pronounced dead shortly after admission to the Baie Verte hospital.

The name of the deceased will not be released pending notification of next-of-kin.

WestCoaster from NFLD writes: Hopefully the people that witnessed the accident will come forward with what happend to help send a message that one bad judgement call could be your last. It is unfortunate when someone so younge looses their lives to something that might have been avoided. It is even more unfortunate that this younge man is now an example of what can happen behind the wheel. It is not only the life that is lost but all the lives that are left behind to deal with such a tragedy. Rest in Peace little buddy and for the family effected remember that God will take good care of him.
