Confusion over ACAP closing?

An Atlantic Coastal Action Program (ACAP) site in Nova Scotia reported in The Star as being in the process of shutting down operations will continue to run after all.
According to Richard Kellock, co-chairperson of the Pictou Harbour Environmental Protection Project, the organization has no intentions of closing down and is currently starting to implement programming from the end of the current fiscal year in March towards 2012 and beyond.
Kellock, in an email to The Western Star Monday, said the ACAP site is in its first year working on environmental stewardship programs with full co-operation from Environment Canada.
Sheldon Peddle of Humber Arm ACAP said word of the Pictou program’s continuation must be “breaking news” as his organization was not aware of future plans.
“We are very pleased for our colleagues at this site and look forward to hearing of their continued successes,” he said in a prepared statement.
