While he is awaiting a bail hearing, the charges against Larry Hickey continue to pile up.

In provincial court in Corner Brook Tuesday, another uttering threats charge came before the court. It was previously called Oct. 20, but had not been added to the list of offences that have kept him behind bars since he turned himself in to police Nov. 5.

This separate charge of uttering threats was then added with the other matters when Hickey has a bail hearing Dec. 2. Hickey did not make an appearance Tuesday.

The John’s Beach man was wanted by police after it was alleged he pointed and fired a .303-calibre rifle at a man in the company of Hickey’s ex-wife. They reportedly had gotten into an argument after she showed up at Hickey’s home to retrieve some personal property.
Police say Hickey uttered threats to kill the man and fired a shot over his head while they were inside the residence.

The 39-year-old was originally charged with uttering threats, pointing a firearm, and careless use of a firearm. Later, charges of assaulting the same man and using a firearm in the commission of an indictable offence were laid. Now, a separate uttering threats charge has been added.
