A new program will make for a safe and fun opportunity for children in the Bay St. George area this Halloween.
Trunk ’n’ Treat, being introduced by Bay St. George Crime Stoppers, will provide a unique opportunity for children that might not normally get to participate in Halloween activities a chance to do so.
Residents of the area can bring their vehicles to the Stephenville High School parking lot, decorate it as you would your front yard, and hand out treats to the children, kind of a one-stop shopping approach.
Karen Bennett of the local Crime Stoppers committee said the event would provide an opportunity for people whose homes are too far apart or who live down a long lane to come and be part of the event and hand out their treats.
The organization is hoping that people will get involved in this inaugural event that starts at 5 p.m. and ends at 7:30 p.m. … or when treats run out.
Bennett said the back of a vehicle could be decorated using a Halloween theme or story and have lots of treats for youth of all ages to enjoy from the Bay St. George area.
Everyone is welcome to drop by.
