Carbonear man faces weapon charges after RCMP search home

CARBONEAR, NL — A 23-year-old Carbonear man is facing 14 weapon-related charges.

Lucas Rowe was arrested Friday morning, April 20, after officers with the Harbour Grace RCMP and RCMP Police Dog Services executed a search warrant inside a home on Water Street in Carbonear.

According to a news release issued Monday morning, April 23, police seized a number of firearms and prohibited devices.

Rowe faces four counts of possessing a restricted weapon, five counts of possessing unregistered weapons and five counts of unlawfully possessing a firearm, crossbow or prohibited/restricted weapon while under probation.

He appeared in Harbour Grace Provincial Court Friday and was remanded in custody. A bail hearing for the accused is scheduled for tomorrow.
