Corner Brook's Levi Gould elects to be tried in Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador

Levi Gould has elected to be tried in the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador by judge alone on charges of sexual assault and sexual interference.

Gould, 56, appeared by video in provincial court in Corner Brook on the charges on Tuesday afternoon. The alleged victim is under the age of 16.

The Corner Brook man has been in custody on the charges since March 1. He was on parole at the time of his arrest.

Gould has requested a preliminary inquiry be held on the charges and that has been set for June 1.
