Two people had to be rescued from the roof of a Corner Brook home after fire broke out early Tuesday morning.
The emergency call to the house on Country Road came in at around 3:30 a.m.
Members of the Corner Brook Fire Department evacuated the two basement occupants from the home and safely extracted two other residents from the roof of the home.
Paramedics took the two people removed from the roof to Western Memorial Regional Hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
The inside of the home was extensively damaged
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary will remain at the scene, as a police fire investigator will continue to investigate the fire scene throughout the day.
