GRAND BEACH, N.L. – A 68-year-old Grand Bank man is dead following a boating accident in Swabs Dock Pond in the Grand Beach area on July 13.
According to the RCMP, the deceased man, whose name is being withheld until next of kin are notified, and another individual from Grand Bank were trout fishing when their canoe tipped over.
Both men were wearing life jackets at the time, but only one of them was able to swim to safety.
