Ian Tallack released from custody on list of recognizance conditions

Ian Tallack, a 22-year-old Stephenville man facing assault and uttering threat charges from an incident on Cornwall Heights on Sunday evening has been released from custody.

The Bay St. George RCMP said it was at about 8 p.m. on Sunday they responded to a report that a woman had been assaulted at a residence on Cornwall Heights in Stephenville.

After attending, four charges of assault, one of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and one of overcoming resistance to commission of an offence (choking) were laid against Tallack by police.

Conditions of his recognizance include: keep the peace and be of good behaviour, remain in the province, remain in his place of residence from 12 midnight to 7 a.m., to stay away from the victim, to stay away from people with a criminal record, a prohibition from possessing firearms and not reside where such things are stored, present himself at the door of the residence when requested and attend court on April 2.
