Lisa Lucas has been acclaimed the new mayor of Stephenville Crossing.
The acclamation took place at the Stephenville Crossing town council’s first meeting held on Tuesday evening, where a swearing in of the new council took place.
Leona Webb was voted in as deputy mayor from three nominees that were put forward, including Cynthia Downey and Sharon Bennett, who was the former deputy mayor.
While the deputy mayor and mayor are new to their positions, the full council is made up of incumbents who were all returned to their seats and also included: Brian Joy, Michael Batt and Anna Brake.
