As they have been doing in Corner Brook on Good Friday for more than 30 years, local residents against abortion marched peacefully outside Western Memorial Regional Hospital.

Nearly 40 people took part in an anti-abortion rally outside Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Good Friday morning.

The protest is an annual event that has taken place outside the hospital in Corner Brook on the Easter holiday weekend for more than three decades.

Most abortions in Newfoundland and Labrador are performed at the St. John’s Morgentaler Clinic, but those participating in the rally in Corner Brook believe it is important to continue to raise awareness of their belief that a pregnancy should not be aborted unless there is a medical emergency.
