Police are remaining tight-lipped about details surrounding a shooting death in Felix Cove back on March 29.

Const. Jennifer Culleton of the RCMP Major Crime Unit in Corner Brook said on Monday that there will be no further media releases at this time, but did say the investigation is ongoing.

Police would not say who shot the weapon that resulted in a man’s death early that morning, nor will they release the age of the deceased and how many people were in the residence at the time.

The only person arrested following the incident was Jasmine Pittman, 20, of Stephenville. She was released from custody on a number of conditions after an appearance in Stephenville Provincial Court on March 31. Police have charged Pittman with break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence.

While that charge is in relation to the Saturday morning shooting incident in Felix Cove, police have stressed that it was not Pittman who fired the weapon that resulted in the death of a male inside the home.

Pittman will return to court on June 9.

Officers responded to a call for assistance at the Felix Cove residence in the early morning hours that Saturday.  Upon arrival at the scene, officers were advised that a confrontation took place where weapons were used and resulted in the man’s death.

None of the three people who were in the residence could be reached for comment on Monday.
