The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary in Corner Brook has charged two men with offences relating to the false representation of a peace officer.

On Tuesday, officers with the RNC criminal investigation division, with assistance from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, charged a 34-year-old Corner Brook man and a 25-year-old Deer Lake man as part of an ongoing investigation.

It is alleged the accused represented themselves as peace officers through the use of uniforms, vehicle signage and equipment. All items were seized by police without incident and both males are scheduled to appear in provincial court on June 10.
