Corner Brook teen charged with assault with a weapon

A 17-year-old male has been charged with several offences after the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded to a complaint of assault on Mount Batten Road in Corner Brook Thursday morning.

The police responded to the report of a 25-year-old man being assaulted at 8 a.m. The youth was located three hours later and arrested.

The older man suffered minor injuries as a result of the alleged incident. Both of the people involved were known to each other.

The younger male has been charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats and breaching court orders. He was held for a court appearance Friday.
