Members of the Bay St. George RCMP plan on stepping up patrols on the Port au Port Peninsula this weekend with a focus on people operating all-terrain vehicles on the roadway.

Const. Ryan Meko said this action follows multiple complaints this week of such activity on the peninsula.

The latest complaint came in on Thursday of a number of all-terrain vehicles on the roadway in Ship Cove and Meko said police will be looking for violations of this type and laying fines where necessary.
