The sky is expected to clear in western Newfoundland today, and a hot day is forecasted.

Environment Canada is calling for temperatures to reach as high as 29C today in the Corner Brook area.

There is still a chance of showers this morning, but that should clear by noon. However, rain could fall again as early as Thursday morning. With increasing cloudiness beginning near midnight tonight, the temperature is also expected to cool over the next couple of days.

The weather forecaster predicts showers Thursday and Friday, but sun and temperatures back up to the mid-20C mark for the weekend.
