A 50-year-old Fort McMurray, Alberta resident arrested on Wednesday evening for impaired driving charges from an accident in Campbell’s Creek has been released on a promise to appear in court on Sept. 29.

Const. Ryan Meko said it is believed the man was the driver of a car that struck and damaged a patio deck on a residence in Campbell’s Creek.

Members of the Bay St. George RCMP attended the area and commenced an impaired driving investigation, but the man refused to provide breath samples.

Meko said the man was taken into custody but later released with the court date and charges of impaired driving, refusal to provide a breath sample and mischief relating to the damage to the residential deck pending.
