A & W weekend robbery in Stephenville under investigation

An investigation into an early morning weekend robbery into A & W Restaurant in Stephenville is underway by the Bay St. George RCMP.

Cpl. John Butler said the incident was reported to police shortly after 6 a.m. on Saturday when the morning shift had showed up at the restaurant, located at the corner of Prince Rupert Drive and Queen Street.

In addition to the building being damaged to gain entry there was an undisclosed amount of cash stolen.

Butler said police didn’t have a suspect, just yet on Monday morning but the incident is actively being investigated.
